Description of Work: Kanaweyimik Child & Family Services invites sealed tenders from eligible and qualified contractors for janitorial and light maintenance services. The scope of work includes:
● Day to day clean-up of two office buildings, the main office and prevention office with surrounding lots.
● Floors and rugs to be cleaned and vacuumed daily.
● Coffee room to be cleaned daily as well as washing and putting away dishes, etc.
● Garbage to be removed daily and put into the outside garbage bins.
● Bathrooms to be cleaned and sanitized daily. Supplies to be replenished daily.
● Dusting, washing windows, walls, etc. is to be done on a as need-be basis.
● Carpets to be shampooed at a minimum of once a year or as need-be due to weather conditions.
● Change light bulbs and batteries for smoke detectors as need-be basis and other light maintenance needs.
● Mowing, weed control, watering and maintenance of yard
● Kanaweyimik will provide garbage bags, paper towel, toilet paper,batteries and light bulbs but contractor will need to notify Kanaweyimik when supplies are low so orders can be placed.
● Vacuum, brooms, shovels, rakes, ladders, mowers and other maintenance equipment must be supplied by the contractor.
● Kanaweyimik would prefer janitorial/maintenance services be done during the evening or overnight during the week. The office can be cleaned anytime during the weekend for Monday morning.
● Contractor is required to clear the walkways,stairs and entrances of snow as well as put ice melt and sand on walkways and stairs during the winter months.
Eligibility Criteria:
● Valid driver’s license.
● Minimum of 5 years proven experience in janitorial/light maintenance work.
● Must provide a clear criminal record check.
● Must be bondable and will be required to sign an oath of confidentiality.
● Compliance with local labor and safety regulations.
● Must have fire safety training.
● Must carry own liability insurance and WCB insurance.
● Must be able to provide the equipment required to perform the duties.
Tender Documents: Tender documents can be obtained from the Kanaweyimik main office between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on working days from April 16 to April 24, 2026.
Submission of Tenders: Completed tender documents must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked "Tender for Janitor and Light Maintenance Services” and delivered to the following address by the closing date and time:

Bid Opening: Tenders will be opened at the Kanaweyimik main office on April 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the presence of the Kanaweyimik Selection Committee.
